Hello all, Our kids got out a week ago and we teachers finished up Friday. But my job is still not done! (Is it ever?) A teacher/parent asked me for a list of titles for her daughters - one is 9 and the other 16 - focusing on nontraditional heroines. The older one is reading Harlequin type romances. The parent wants the older one to see that a woman doesn't have to be petite, longhaired, blue-eyed, helpless and barely out of her teens to be happy. Nor are the only happy men all over 6 foot, dark haired, green eyed, muscular, hawk visaged, thirty somethings! Apparently this all came from a discussion on how the daughter felt she HAD to get married before she was 23 because men don't find women over 25 attractive! Ah, the black and white world of youth! :-( I have been searching for a couple of days with only one or two titles. Can anyone help us out?
