GEN: Internet site access

I have been asked by an administrator in our district to ask you for
advice regarding companies that offer to provide refereed access to
internet sites. This would be an alternative to filtering, perhaps with
Border
Manager and Cyber patrol. He has a flyer from iNet Library. If you are
using this could you let me know your reaction to it? Also, Winnebago
offers Net Connect. Is this being used in your school, and how useful is
it? Any other similar programs would be of interest also.
        Recently a member of the listserv had NetNanny mentioned as a way
to allow access to selected sites. We would like to know more about this
product if you are using it.
        As we are on the brink of having fiberoptic access to the internet
throughout the district, many of our administrators (not to mention this
short staffed librarian with 25 computers in the library) are wondering
how to get the advantages of this new resource without the downside. I
know that your insights will be carefully considered and greatly
appreciated.
