Hi, My daughter told me that her sister-in-law brought home a three page list of books she is NOT ALLOWED to read because they might be on her silibi in high school next year. They have to read so many hours for credit, but if they read any of the books on the list, they will not receive credit for them. She reads above grade level now, so this cuts out a lot of the books she could read for credit. Have any of you heard about this? Is it district wide or just for certain high schools? I would really like to be able to expalin this to my daughter. [Being an 'onery' person, my first reaction was to have my daughter read the list to me and start getting the books for the eighth grader myself. ;-) ] Thanks!
