What bothers me the most is the substitution of one stereotype for another.

What bothers me next most is that they have accepted Will Manley as an
authority on libraries and librarianship.  Will writes a fine column, he
delights in waking us all up--but his position is really that of the court
fool who makes inside jokes and shares perceptions with a group of
insiders.  He does not take the stance of the scholar--he would be the
first to admit that his polls are amusement and that those who reply are
self-selected and not a stratified sample.
