Hispanic surname history

Dear LM_NETTERS,


I have a student whose teacher has given her an assignment to find out
the history of her name.  We are not having any luck with searches on
the Web for sites that give this information.She contacted a local
library and they were not able to help.  Any information or suggestions
for resources to use would be appreciated.  We will continue to try on
our own and contact our local public library system again.
