Target: science/literature lesson plans

Hello Everyone,
I would like to request a lesson plan or activity that can be used with a 7th
grade biology class involving biology and mysteries.  Oh boy, all I can think
of  is The Bone Collector :o
The teacher is open to non-fiction as well.  I have tried a few sites on the
web, but have not found anything yet.
Things are pretty hectic here with the book fair, the Native American totem
pole unit (where's the constuction paper?), the censorship project,  and the
study skills in health lesson.  Hunh?
If anyone has a science activity using mysteries, science fiction, or even
non-fiction  to share, I'd be very  very grateful. Thanks
