We had a great experience with Paul Owen Lewis, author of Davy's Dream,
Storm Boy, Frog Girl, and other k-5 books. He held the entire student
body of 299 spellbound for an hour in the auditorium for a
slide-show/performance, and then followed up with 4/5 and 2/3 grade
hour-long sessions about dreaming, writing, and never giving up despite
difficulties. The books are beautiful, he handled himself very
professionally, and the kids responded very positively. I recommend him
without hesitation. He is located in Portland, Oregon, I think, and I
can find more info for you if you're interested.
