Thanks to all of you who responded-you are a wonderful group of busy and caring folks. I thought I would post a hit because so many of you responded and, unfortunately this is a common need. The titles most often suggested were Cynthia Rylant's Dog Heaven and Hans Wilhelm's I'll always love you. Also suggested were Leo the Magnificat, For Every Dog an Angel, The Forever Dog, Badger's Parting Gift by Susan Varley, Donald and Carol Carrick's book, The Accident, Fred Rodger's When A Pet Dies, Grandfather's Laika by Wahl, The Mightiest Heart by Cullen, Old Dog by ZOlotow, and unnamed titles by Eve Bunting and Miriam Cohen. Also Murphhy and Kate by Ellen Howard. I appreciate your help, and so will my student. Barbara Ellingosn, Librarian, Moretown,Vt.
