ELEM: Beginning reader titles

This is my first request of the year, and I will appreciate every reply.
Does anyone have suggestions for beginning-to-read titles for *low*
ability/reading level for 2nd grade students? Let me know any new
authors/titles that seem to be successful, as well as the traditional ones
that appear on many lists.
