Hi group! I've since received more favorite Christmas stories. Here are the rest of the stories that haven't already been mentioned. I have made my decision - I have just ordered The Last Straw. I will definitely try to get ahold of many of the others - but the Christmas story will be The Last Straw. Thanks again!! The Last Straw, by Fredrick H. Thury (Talewinds 1998). The story of the camel whose burden is evergrowing with the gifts of all he meets on the way to the stable on Christmas Eve, whose last item to take along is a straw for the baby's bed, and whose knees buckle just as he gets to the stable--when the baby reaches out to touch him and no burden was ever to great to be carried again--is just beautiful for any audience. Terry Guenther, School Library Media Specialist Red Ranger Came Calling by Berkley Breathed Blair Heald ======================================================================== == Amy, please add the most wonderful "House of Wooden Santas" by Kevin Major. I love this book! It is the story of a single Mom and her son who have to move to a new town. The Mom carves a new wooden santa everyday before Christmas and tries to sell them to make a living. A wonderful story with excellent characters. A great lead up to Christmas - a story for each day! Hugs, Sue =============================================== Amy- I glanced over your hit and saw lots of my Christmas favorites-- with one exception. You should also know about With Love at Christmas by Mem Fox. Don't read it in a bookstore--too touching!
