I would LOVE to have unlimited checkout for all of my K-5 students. However, I am the only library employee and I only work 15 hours per week. (Well, that's the hours for which I am paid.) During that time I see all 400+ students. I cannot possibly allow students to take the time to choose an unlimited number of books, nor do I have time to check them out, nor do I have time to shelve them. I have some parent help but since time is so limited for each class, I must limit the number of books a student may check out on each visit.
