Its Maugrim in my (English) Penguin paperback edition,
1973 printing. It was also Maugrim in the recent BBC
Tv version. Fenris as a name for a wolf is a good one
of course, but I fail to see why a change would be
made. I assume that Maugrim is the original. I wonder
if there are any other changes? I can remember back at
uni doing a play based on The Hobbit, we made it up
from the book and got very confused when we discovered
that we were working from the three different
versions. This was in the early '70s and most people
had a third edition, but had my father's 2nd ed from
the early '50s while one person had her (treasured)
1st edition which she'd had since she was a young girl
in the early '40s. Some passages were quite different.
