The CD Drives in our 2 stacks of 7 are dying 1 by 1. We currently use a device called a DiscPort to allow our Win 95 clients to access the CD drives. DiscPort has been problematic at best and tech support has been less than stellar. A business teacher suggest buying an HP SureStore CD-ROM Server instead of replacing the old drives one at a time and spending hour configuring and troubleshooting the DiscPort. My question: is anyone out there using the HP product? Is it less trouble than a CD stack? Is it worth the investment ($2200 for seven drives or $3800 for 14 versus $2600 to replace all 14 of my existing drives and keep nursing the DiscPort)? I'd be greatful for any feedback. -- Tony Doyle, Librarian Livingston HS, Livingston, CA tdoyle@muhsd.k12.ca.us =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-= All postings to LM_NET are protected under copyright law.
