TARGET: Listening and note-taking

I'm going to be having a speaker come and talk to my 6th graders about
chivalry.  Do you guys have any suggestions for either books or websites
which deal with note-taking and LISTENING?  I have spent 2 hours this
morning looking on the net for note-taking, but it all relates to taking
notes from books, and it's also way above my 6th grade level.

Has anyone had the book
        Learning to Learn : Strengthening Study Skills and Brain Power
                     by Gloria Frender
