We started out by developing a list of competencies that we felt every =
teacher should have and added competencies special to each department, =
graphing calculators for the math department, etc.   We then sent out a =
questionnaire to see what competencies teachers had, what equipment they =
had access to at the school and at home.  From the answers we offered some =
inservi ce opportunities.  We again sent out the questionnaire last spring =
(we plan to modify it and do this yearly).  From this we were able to see =
what progress had been made.  This time we shared the results with =
department heads who then worked with their individula members to help =
them reach the goals.  We are also in the midst of a series of after =
school workshops, the present one in on PowerPoint.  We are also plannning =
a tech fiar showcase to show curriculum integration.  Also a summer =
intensive workshop in in the planning stage.  All of this is handled by a =
learning subcomittee of the technology committee.
