Bank Street College Graduate School is seeking an energetic Instructional =
Technology Development Specialist to provide support for the faculty to in =
the development of new courses that incorporate multiple technologies, =
especially those involving on-line and web-based delivery and communication=
s strategies.

Responsibilities

This position serves to provide faculty members with support, guidance and =
collaboration around technical and pedagogical issues in educational =
technology. The technologist will provide support and direction for =
instructional development and design. Specific activities will include:

Research and recommend new application software for consideration.
Participate in special projects and investigations related to emerging =
technologies and their uses.
Assist teachers in their exploration of the ways that the Internet can =
support instruction and participate in discussions around pedagogy on the =
graduate school level.
Train and coach novice and intermediate level users in basic computer =
literacy (e-mail, web browsers, search engines, and search techniques), =
and the use of web authoring tools.
Help to create, design, and maintain a website.
Help faculty develop skills in new media evaluation.

Qualifications:

A Master's degree in instructional design and development, instructional =
systems technology, educational technology or a similar field. A Bachelor's=
 degree in the same or similar field and three years of instructional =
development and design experience will be acceptable in lieu of the =
Master's degree. Must possess a strong knowledge of Mac OS, Win95/NT, =
Office 97 and HTML/Web development tools. Experience in multimedia a plus.
Demonstrable expertise and success in applying instructional development =
and design principles to the development of curriculum utilizing a variety =
of technology-based delivery strategies, including on-line and Web-based =
strategies.
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills. Ability =
to coordinate multiple partners.
Strong team leadership skills.
The successful candidate will report to the Director of Instructional =
Technology and will have liaison with the Computer Services Department.

Start Date:             Immediately

Salary:         Dependent on experience
