I am still buying print encyclopedias and will continue to do so. They are great for browsing, lots of kids can use them at one time (we do not have a networked encyclopedia CD, only a few individual ones), and they are great for ready reference. I purchase them on a cycle and have World Book, New Book of Knowledge, Encyclopedia Americana, and Britannica. The Americana is my most heavily used set. I have older (still in the 90s to late 90s) sets of Colliers, Comptons, and Academic American that are great for projects that don't require current information. We use them for a special composition newspaper project on happenings in the administration of early 20th Century presidents. The Teapot Dome Scandal hasn't changed much in years! We serve grades 7 and 8; LD and ESL students appreciate New Book of Knowledge. Beth Backus Beth N.
