I have been told that when a photographer takes a picture that he/she holds the copyright and the subject does not. Why then do some photographers have people sign releases? What rights to do the subjects of pictures have? This question specifically refers to photographs taken at school by school employees. We already have a policy for the use of photographs on the web, but these photographs I am talking about are pictures taken around school and are only to be posted around the school building and not outside. I am also aware that a classified student (special education) should not be indentified as being classified in such a picture. *** Frederick Muller fmuller@tellurian.net Halsted Middle School (973) 383-7440 ext.228 59 Halsted Street FAX (973) 383-7432 Newton, NJ 07860 ------- My book reviews are compiled at: http://www.halsted.org/br.htm =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-= All postings to LM_NET are protected under copyright law.
