GEN: Business Donation Letters

Has anyone ever sent letters out to business in their school's area
asking for donations of either money or products to be used as prizes
(or to purchase prizes) for a media center reading program.  I would
like to award prizes for my March reading month program but would like
to see if I can get local businesses and industries to donate money for
prizes or prizes themselves.  If you have written this type of letter
(and you were sucessfull in getting donations), would you forward a copy
to me so I can try to develop one of my own.
