Encyclopedia of Science

Our new science teacher has requested that I buy the McGraw-Hill Encyclopedia
of Science and Technology.  The only information I have about it is that the
price is $150.  Does anyone know for what ages it is appropriate?  We have
neither shelf space nor money to buy something that will not be used.
