So, I'm in a new school and I really want to keep up with all the = requests, but some of them are a little 'out there.' Some collegues are creating a series of lessons for upper elementary = students on various aspects of writing. They would like to lead off each = lesson with a somewhat related quotation by a children's author, just to = get the conversation started.=20 What we're wondering is if anyone knows of any websites (no book titles, = please) that would list good quotes from children's authors> OR If you know some good quotes that are attributed to a children's author = that has to do with any of the following aspects of the writing process, = please send them to my personal e-mail address: > Understanding the Topic (writing purposes: to entertain, inform, > persuade, etc.) > Getting Ideas (Prewriting: brainstorming, drawing, webbing, etc.) > Organizing a Report (beginning, middle, end) > Planning and Writing a Story (tells about beginning, middle, end, and > main idea/supporting details) >=20 > Putting Your Voice to Work (difference between formal and informal > voices) > Choosing Words (proper and slang words) > Details (adding details to make text come alive for the reader) > Sentences (sentence variety) > Working with Your Topic (main idea and supporting details) >=20 > Editing for Capitalization > End Punctuation > Checking Your Spelling > (This unit includes the lesson you're writing; organization will > change) >=20 > Tips for Doing Your Best Writing I know this is a toughie, but I will certainly appreciate anything that = comes my way. Thanks in advance.
