Subject: TARGET: HS title suggestion
To: LM_NET@LISTSERV.SYR.EDU

One of the 10th grade U.S. History teachers in my building is searching
for a title for her students to read as a class. She would prefer
non-fiction but the right fiction title is a possibility. She would
like a title dealing with post WW II issues such as civil rights, inner
city life, Vietnam era, the 60's, 70's, etc. She is very flexible about
the content, but the reading level needs to be middle school and the
length around 100-150 pages. I know this is a rather restrictive
request, but she would appreciate suggestions. Last year her class read
To Be a Slave by Julius Lester and it was a great success.
thank you in advance. this is my first venture in making a request but
I have been a lurker for more than a year! I have utilized much
information from this group.
