Pets books are very popular in our school. Pet books of all kinds are regularly circulated. Kids take out books to learn about their pets, to learn to care for their pets, even to try to convince their parents that they need a pet. Why we occassionally get back a book bitten by a pet! So we have decided to have Pet Week in the Library. We have arranged to have the local SPCA send in speakers and a dog for an assembly. I shall use pet books in my program all week and use the opportunity to spotlight the Dewey 600 classification (probably the week before). Any child who wants to have a picture of his pet displayed in or outside of the Library must also bring in some pet food. The collection of food will be donated to the SPCA. It should be a lot of fun. Have a good year everyone- esp. those of us who are starting this week.
