GEN: Delacorte Press Prize

I just finished reading a book that listed prominently on the front
cover that is was a "winner of the Delacorte Press Prize."  The
book was published by Delacorte (surprise, surprise.) Does anyone
know anthing about this award -- it sounds rather self-serving to me.
