16 mm film

Colleagues,

        When IMS went out of business in Milwaukee last spring, teachers had the o=
pportunity to claim any 16 mm films they wished to save.  (The new IMS owne=
rs rent videos and other media but no 16mm.)

Did anyone claim =22Young Goodman Brown=22, a film based on Hawthorne's sho=
rt story?


        We have a teacher who rented it every year and would like to be able to us=
e it again. (Alas,he was too busy last spring to claim it=21)  It is one of=
 those not available on video.  Which brings up another question:  is there=
 a depository anywhere for old 16mm films* not available on video?  Have we=
 lost all those great old films?  Roa's Film in Milwaukee closed several ye=
ars ago; where did those films go?  Thanks for any info.=20


*some specific titles desired:  Walk East on Beacon Street, 1952 ; Phaedra,=
 1961: Winter Carnival, 1939.
