Dear Folks, A week or two ago a few people posted a help request for materials to help a new art teacher who had been assigned this task, versus working in the library. I deleted the message, so I apologize for posting this to everyone. Here are some really good materials! I just got ahold of them myself, thus the delay. I am teaching grade 6 art this year, plus running the library and a few other tasks, but I have an arts background. Our full time art teacher just gave me the following materials and I hope they help. A Survival Kit for the Secondary School Art Teacher by Helen D. Hume isbn 0876287984 published by the Center for Applied Research in Education. Excellent text Scholastic Art magazine - get multiple copies and use with the class Arts & Activities magazine the Annotated Mona Lisa - a really good digest form, paperback history of world art. Our art teacher swears by it. Good luck, Muriel Zimmer Teacher Librarian at King's-Edgehill School Windsor, N.S.
