Yesterday I was giving a = group of freshman internet/computer training. We had gone over the = acceptabe use policy and were in the process of learning how to use the = magazine data base. I had the students do a search on "dogs". The = first article that pulled up was an article from Esquire about a man who = was having an affair with his girl friend's dog (fictional account and = very explicit). I told the students that this was a learning experience = and we had talked about this in AUP training. I realize that I cannot = censor nor do I want to censor everything for my students...but I do = feel that this crossed or is real close to being pornographic. I am = also uptight about the situation because the article was not off the = internet (although it is also on the online version of the = database...just not as blatant) but on the purchased magazine database = (CD ROM version). Any advice?
