We are currently having the wonderful experience of choosing furniture for our new (going to bid next week) tech center and library. I have a couple of questions for those of you in libraries that have real library furniture (as opposed to my folding tables and plastic chairs.) If you could spend a minute, we'd be eternally grateful. As far as chairs for the library/study tables go, I know I want wood with sled bottoms. The question we have is whether an upholstered seat and back are a better buy than all wood chairs. Does the upholstery hold up well? Does the wood get gouged easily? If you have a "patron ledge" on your circulation desk, how is it supported and how sturdy is it? If you have any other advice or suggestions, I'm listening. TIA!
