I live in one of those eastern NC town that was badly hit by Floyd. We
expected lots of wind, but instead got lots of water. Sections of Rocky
Mount (east of I 95 about 1 hour south of the Va. border..if you've ever
traveled to Florida from the Northeast...you've probably driven by here) that
never appeared to be near water were flooded.
Numerous homes and lives have been disrupted.
I live in Rocky Mount and work both at a Community College here which is
closed until further notice and work as well at an elementary school in a
section of Greenville called Belvoir. My Asst. Principal called yesterday
and told me that the elementary school that I worked at was closed until
further notice.

Tarboro, Greenville and Rocky Mount are just a few of the town that have
received major damage. The Red Cross and the Southern Baptist Convention
Disaster Teams have arrived and are doing a marvelous job feeding and
clothing our residents.
Please keep these areas in your thoughts and prayers.
