Subject: Mac vs. IBM Platform

Dear LM_Net:

We are currently running Macs in our High School Library.

Several CD-Rom programs we have been wanting to purchase for our Library
to run in our Maxtet Tower have been available only in IBM format. Does
anyone have any thoughts as to the future of Mac platform CD-Rom products
in the High School Library?

Even products that we regularly receive for our tower, i.e. Sirs &
Ebsco, periodically are formatted incorrectly for our use.

If you have had a Mac Library and gone to an IBM platform, what are the
advantages/disadvantages you have encountered changing to a Windows
platform.

I checked the archives, and the only discussion about this was prior to
1997. As Window platforms have changed radically in this time,  we
would like to have more current information.
