TECH: Gen: Signature file

Hi Group - I have been trying to get a signature to go on the end of all
my emails, but am not having luck.  I'm pretty new at all this.  I typed
out an Angel and my name, etc. in Office 97, but when I try to put it
in, it just comes out as symbols.  I am using an IBM and my email is
through Netscape communicator 4.6 (I think).  Can anyone send me some
instructions step by step.  I see all those neat signatures at the end
of emails and would like to not have to type all that everytime.  TIA
