redeye help

Friends & colleagues,
I would like at this time to brag on one of us.  Last week I posted a
target to try to get some help finding discounted copies of  _Redeye_ by

Clyde Edgerton for an adult reading discussion group.  While I got
several responses and many were helpful, one in particular deserves
great praise.  Melissa Malcolm a library media specialist in Vermont
emailed me right away to say she had just been to her local Barnes and
Noble and seen some on the discount table.  She volunteered to pick them

up for me, which she did and mailed them.  They arrived yesterday and my

group is thrilled.  I think, beyond the fact that she is a trusting soul

to send them before I have paid her, it is heartwarming to think that
there is at least one out in LM_NET land that is will to go the extra
mile(s) to help a colleague.

I knew I could still get the title from some bookstores for full price
$12.97 plus shipping, but getting them for $3.95 plus shipping was
soooooo much better.  You see it is the men in our group who so wanted
to read this particular book, and I am so glad to have them (so many
book groups in our area are women only) that I desperately wanted to
find enough copies.  William Doody is sending me two used copies for $5
each and I bid on one on E-bay and got it for $1.99. We now have 12
copies for 20 people but it is short so we intend to share.  I have
thanked Melissa profusely myself but wanted you all to know of her
kindness.
