Elem: characters gathering on a quest

I have a 3rd grade teacher who asked for titles which illustrate the main
character being joined by others while heading on a quest.  Her class came
up with Wizard of Oz, and The Brehman Town Musicians.  Does anyone out
there also happen to know the term for this genre or style?
