Why we became librarians-Kids Thought

I was recently sitting in my office working on a book order (that I've been
working on for months!).  A third grader comes in and stares at our central
distribution system with his mouth hanging open.  When he appears to be in a
trance...I finally ask him what I can do for him.  His reply?  Mr. Pope, I
know why everyone wants to be a media specialist!  Why?...I ask.  'Cause you
get to watch all those TV's!  I laughed and told him I certainly didn't stay
back there watching Barney...and ever what else was on satellite at the
time...  I guess the distribution system would be impressive to a kid with
two small color TV's (with about 10" screens), 4 VCR's, 3 satellite receivers
and the other stuff all incased in a black metal cabinet.  Ha...
