We have a problem in our school network with the printer. In the LMC we have 12 PCs and 1 printer connected to a Novell network. The teacher's computers in their classrooms are also connected to our printer. It is a Lexmark laser printer. On occasion, but often enough to be annoying (5X a week for 12 computers) a computer will disconnect from the printer. It loses the network connection and we have been told by the tech staff that the only way to re-establish it is to log off, turn off the computer and re-boot and log on again. Does this happen to others? Is this normal for a Novell network of PCs? Any insight as to why this happens? We do not manage the school's network and know only very basic information about it. The school has a small (1 person), overworked tech. staff. The only network we manage is our circ/cat, a small appletalk Mac based network of 3 computers unconnected to the major school Novell network.
