SEC: Science - Environmental case studies

Our HS Bio teachers are writing new curriculum.  One of the research
projects they would like to include  focuses on environmental case studies
(ie. Love Canal).  We are trying to come up with a number of case studies
to give students a choice.  I haven't had much luck searching this out.

If anyone has experience with this type of project and could provide a
list of case studies, or any other pertinent information you think would
help...
