Dear fellow LM_Netters, An English teacher asked a question concerning "Animal Farm" by George Orwell that I could not answer. Perhaps your vast knowledge can help. Throughout the book, the word "sheeps" is used instead of "sheep." Is the word "sheeps" an acceptable plural in Great Britain? Is there an on-line resource that could answer that question for me? He'd like to have some sort of reference to refer to as an "authority." I have checked: New Oxford Dictionary of British English http://ukdb.web.aol.com/oup/ Our filter would not allow access to this one. Index of On-Line Dictionaries http://www.facstaf.bucknell,edu/rbeard/diction.html ` Checked the English dictionaries. Any inside info on this will be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Mary L.
