The librarian should be sending teachers attractive information about new books and materials as they arrive. The librarian should be coming to their classrooms to teach students how to more easily get their research assignments accomplished. The librarian should be running some kind of reading promotion at all times. The librarian should be displaying student work in the library. The librarian should be ordering everything the teachers ask for that they need for instruction (as much as the budget will allow). The librarian should be manipulating MARC records and equipment so that more things are more easily accessible. The librarian should be making sure the library is open from the time teachers must arrive on campus to time for them to go home--if not more. The librarian should be writing Project Pathfinders for research assignments so that students and teachers know what kinds of materials to look for in the library. The librarian should be composing and maintaing a webpage on the school site so that students and teachers can search with confidence. Is that enough? --- Donna Cook, Nacogdoches, Texas : Teacher/Librarian Central High; District Coordinator, Central ISD; Library Consultant, Douglass ISD; "Minister of Information" First Baptist. donnacook@mailcity.com 409-853-9345 On Tue, 4 Apr 2000 20:54:25 C & A Laferla wrote: >Dear Netters...How are YOU!!! > >I am asking your help...as usual! >I will be sharing with 50 teachers of my school about How a Librarian >can help them in their work. >I think, most of you know the story!!
