Help! We are starting a library...

Dear Group:

I am asking for suggestions or advice on starting a school library from
scratch. Our small, K3 through 10th grade school is in the process of
selecting software for cataloging and circulation. We have one computer and
currently all our books are in boxes on the floor. Has anyone out there "been
there, done that" before? Nothing is cataloged at all at the moment. We would
like to start out automated if possible if funds allow. Can someone please
tell me what would be the bare minimum we would need to get automated?

Any helpful suggestions are very appreciated.
