Dear All,
I got several requests for explanations about Schoolpop so here
is the answer. Let me say that I have no financial interest in
this site.

It is at http://www.schoolpop.com

Basically it is a fund raising site where you register and
designate a school to receive the benefits. You then get a
discount of 3.7% to 6% on items that you or people registered for
your school purchase from online stores that they represent.

They have stores in all categories: books, apparel, toys, flowers,
gifts, computers, auctions, auto supplies, etc. The idea is to get
as many friends and parents signed up for Schoolpop as you usually
get a $5 credit for each new member who signs up for your school.
It works well with PTA support.

Once every couple of months a check is sent to the designated
person at each school for these rebates. The prices for the items
that you buy online are the same as if you didn't use Schoolpop.

I have ordered from both B&N and Amazon through Schoolpop and the
service was the same as always except that the rebate added to the
donated funds. It's quite painless.

Our school participated in a similar program with AT&T Learning
Points (now defunct) and we were able to get a TV/Computer
converter, a digital camera and a printer. The key is to get as
many people (friends, parents, teachers) signed up for your
school. Right now there is a special promotion that if you get 50
people to sign up by Sept. 30th you get a $250 gift certificate to
B&N.
