GEN: Importance of Identification/Signature for LM_NET Postings

Dear LM_NET Colleagues,

Here is a friendly reminder to include certain essential information in
your postings to LM_NET. The lack of a complete ID signature file is the
most common reason for members being reset to have their messages reviewed
(screened) prior to posting, and for messages to be rejected (returned to
sender) before posting. The review process also delays the time of
posting, so a good signature will speed up the time it takes to have your
message posted.

Our LM_NET membership has consistently wanted to know this essential
information about those participating in our discussions. That is why we
require identification in posted messages.

SIGNATURES REQUIRED
   LM_NET has moved to a policy of required identification within all
   messages posted to LM_NET. Please start the habit of including your:

   1. Name/Occupation/Job Title
   2. Worksite
   3. e-mail address
         Example:
         Jo Booksworth, Librarian
         Best Elementary, Bestville, CA
         JBOOKSWORTH@BEST.K12.CA.US

   If you do not know how to automate this procedure, you may want to
   ask your network manager if there is an automatic way of including a
   signature file in your messages. Most are able to do so.
