My high school used Inspiration quite often for the English 2 and English 3 teacher. The English 2 students had a semester of Independent Guided Reading where they were to read approved novels and then do a project on it. Many used Inspiration to do Character Maps, Literary Maps, Simple Cycles - anything where you could make a flow chart type of display. My daughter even used it for her American History class to make a time line. It's a very simple program to use. It has many templates as well as the ability to create original works. One warning though - the program has a glitch of some sort that is very frustrating at times. It would often freeze my computer when I went to print, therefore losing any unsaved changes. Make sure to tell the students to save often. Hopefully if there's a new version out there this has been taken care of. I don't have the number accessible right now, but I do know they will give you trial software to let your teachers/students try it out. This software has been pushed very heavily to the administrators in Iowa. Hope this was of some help.
