Media Specialist, Library Department

Job Category: School Library/Audio-Visual/Computer Technical Support
Type: Temporary, Part time (Substitute when Media Specialist goes on
two-week paternity leave in September or early October 2000)
Salary: $65/half day (Pay may be higher for highly experienced
individuals.)
Description: K-12 independent school for girls and young women seeks a
substitute media specialist to fulfill the following responsibilities:
Schoolwide audio-visual technical support including equipment operation
for assemblies and instructional presentations,  recording/editing of
school presentations and performances on video and audiotape; research
assistance and technical support for library media network, including
CD-ROM and web-based resources; media research; assisting students and
faculty with use of other media libaries; supervision of student and
parent volunteers; advising faculty and student media projects.
Education/Experience:  Bachelor's degree (BA, BS, etc.) in library
science, video, computer science or 2+ years job experience providing
research assistance or A-V or computer technical support.
Additional Qualifications:  Computer literate, familiarity with Windows
and Mac OS, MS Word, Internet browsers, e-mail; knowledge of Novell
Netware, MS Access a plus.
