Research about Library grading?

Hello,
A colleague of mine is looking for any research studies, theories etc.
which would support the idea that giving children library grades on the
elementary level can have a negative influence on the students, the
library program or the library experience. We are looking ourselves, but
any input would be greatly appreciated. Please respond to me personally (I
have trouble printing from the digest), and I will post a hit if desired.
