I have searched through my MLA handbook (4th ed) and the Internet bibliography help sites, but I have not been able to find a rule for citations of the Christian Bible. I believe we are talking about an English language version which includes both the old and new testament, but I'm not absolutely certain of this. I feel like I should know this, or at least have good access to the info, but I don't. We are using basic MLA forms for both the bibliography and the parenthetical references (for books, typically author and page number with no other punctuation, but in this case I know that wouldn't be correct). If anyone could help me with this, I would greatly appreciate it. You can reply either to me or the listserv.
