First, I hope my 15 minutes of fame were not used up by my responding to
Jeff Hasting's post re:computer labs. Secondly, "Thank You" to everyone
that emailed me about my library web page. Since so many of you asked
the same questions, I thought maybe I would share this. Like many of
you I got into creating a library web page to better serve my students
and staff. Ours is not a wealthy district. We have 475 students, 67
are Amish. Only one of the databases is paid for by my school. The
others are provided through the cooperative efforts of InfOhio, the
information network for Ohio schools, OPLIN, the public library network,
and the state legislature. Some of these databases are home accessible
for the students and/or staff. I do make monthly changes to the web
pages. However, I am not the district web master, so I do not do the
publishing. This causes some problems. The web master only has a period
a day to work on all of the district pages. Thusly, sometimes it takes
weeks to have the page published and for him to fix all the things that
are lost, changed, etc. when he links my Netscape pages to the
district's FrontPage ones. Also, this makes it difficult to add new
links between loads.

If you are responsible for your library web page, I would appreciate
hearing from you regarding: Are you compensated? Money? Time? Etc. Do
you have posting privileges? Do you use a form for parents to grant
permission to have their child's picture, work, etc. published on a web
page? If it is separate from your AUP, how do you keep track of this?
