Identifying an Author

[Virginia Dowd <Crossmount@AOL.COM>]

Would anyone be able to identify the author of Brother Petroc's Return,
published in 1939?  I have read an Image Book edition (1955), and it only
lists the author as S.M.R.  I assume that means the writer was a religious.
