The National Association of Black Storytellers 18th Annual Festival and
Conference will be in Rochester, New York November 15 - 19, 2000. One of its
most significant components is the placement of storytellers in schools,
organizations, and other cultural settings. Storytellers in these settings
extend the reach of the festival to the widest possible audience.

Nationally known, highly qualified and experienced tellers in the African
Oral Tradition will be presented through the Festival's Adopt-A-Teller
Program. Performances, residencies, and workshops will be available for
students and adults.

The Blackstorytelling League of Rochester as a sponsor of the National
Association of Black Storytellers Festival and Conference is now booking
performances, residencies, and workshops to be held in your school (or other
venue) the week of the Festival. The Adopt-A-Teller committee will secure
the best storyteller to meet each organization's request. Of course, booking
early is to the school's advantage to most closely match the request.

Please contact: Merrilyn Elizabeth Parks, Chairperson, Adopt-A-Teller
Committee. 716.454.7960 or cs14@servtech.com

Please forward this message. Thanks,
