When I student taught 10th grade English, I had already been working in
libraries for over 20 years.  I used picture book Greek myths to
introduce a unit, and Diane Stanley's Shakespeare to introduce that
unit.  My supervising teacher said she would NEVER have thought of doing
that (she had been teaching for over 20 years!)  and that she had never
seen students so rapt and attentive!
