Greetings fellow LM_NET-ters, I am seeking information about research done on the value (or lack thereof) of block scheduling at the high school level. I am at a school that has used "double block" scheduling for 8 years now. Classes are 100 minutes long and meet every other day. No one here has ever made an effort to determine if this schedule is actually beneficial to student achievement. I had heard that one entire county in Florida has done away with block scheduling which made me think that some research had been done. I am seeking research-based information because the faculty here is going to be surveyed, and I believe that they need solid information upon which to base their decisions/input. Time is of the essence, so I would greatly appreciate your contacting me directly at your earliest convenience! Thanks in advance!
